Los Angeles/San Jose/San Francisco ~ in California, United States (21 Dec, 2002 - Jan 2, 2003)I've heard a lot about the good things in California but that's the first time I went there during my 4+ years in U.S. California is a lively place and full of her special style...a perfect harmony of technology and culture. I like all places that I have been, Santa Monica in particular. Even though California might not be a good place to live (expensive!!!), I really enjoy the 10+ days there. Thanks for all buddies that hosted me! P.S. I am listening to Eagle's "Hotel California" when writing this. Didn't pick it but my iPod just pick up this song in the song library...love it. =)
-- Apollo, Paul and Brian @ L.A.This street is supposed to be a pretty famous tourist spot but I can't recall the name...
-- Brian and Paul, outside a cafe on Santa Monica St.I probably would spend an afternoon every week at least if I were living in L.A., seriously! How enjoyable it would be sitting there w/ sunshine + book + my iPod + cup of latte!
-- Valerie, Paul and Brian @ Yacht HarborPicture's great isn't it? I like the angle of the sun...very strong touch of "on the road" tone!
-- @ HollywoodWe didn't really care about the words under our feet...simply feel like to take a picture there.
-- Henry, Paul, Andrew and Billy at Chinatown, San FranciscoIt's cool to meet these long-time buddies from SPCC...Apollo and Brian included. Can't help thrilled when I meet my friends elsewhere!
-- Christmas Eve dinner in a "Chiu Zhou" restaurant in San FranciscoYanny, John and Candace from left to middle. Quite funny to have chiu zhou food on Christmas eve =) But it was GREAT! California is such a lovely place...lodsa good food around!!!
-- Bay BridgeApollo's car behind. It was a cold night...but the scene is gorgeous. I think I am a night person afterall.
-- Outside ExploratoriumIt looks artistic/history related but in fact it's a science museum...deceived by its appearance at the beginning.
-- Rodin's "Thinker" and Paul the thinker @ The Legion of Honor (Fine Arts Museum featuring European art pieces from sculpture to paintings)I just can't help taking this kind of pictures...=)
-- Look at the license plate!May be I should get this for my car as well...
-- The group having fun on a tramThis was taken at the tram station - we didn't do this while it's moving!
-- Inside UC BerkeleyGreat school, plain buildings...just like U of Michigan. Campus-wise I like UCLA and Stanford more. No pictures taken in UCLA (I forgot my camera that day!!!!) but Stanford's pic coming next.
-- w/ Brenda near Berkeley campus, San Francisco/Oakland behind usBrenda's my friend back in primary school...moved to CA since 10+ years ago. Thanks Brenda for sacrificing her rest time showing me around San Francisco/San Jose!!!
-- Pooooooool...?One word sum it up: GROSS. (Sorry Brenda, I don't mean to criticize ur school but this one's real bad)
-- Baas, School of Business @ UCB
-- Memorial Church inside Stanford University campusGorgeous. Famous wedding venue - great to have life's most important moment here isn't it?
-- LibraryIsn't it a great place for intellectual stuff?? No wonder there are so many great scholars from Stanford...
-- Hallway with beautiful archI probably should have worked harder in college days (or went for an engineering major) so I can go to grad school in Stanford!
-- Cycling on Golden Gate BridgeHeading towards the bridge with John, Candace and Yanny.
-- Sunset (1)Taken while I was on Golden Gate Bridge.
-- Sunset (2)Another pic...experimental but I didn't remember the shutter's speed and ring size etc...
-- New Year's Eve @ Fisherman's WharfI miss the crowd...this would never happen in Round Rock, may be in Austin.
-- Gone wildCrazy ppl...but they certainly rock the crowd! People were yelling from the bottom of their heart, and I saw others smashing cars and p-ing around...New Year's Eve madness!
